By outcomes we mean things like changes in revenue, profit, customer satisfaction, and customer retention rates related to the use of IT. Other measures we track include financial consequences from the theft or loss of data sensitive information, financial consequences occurring from business downtime due to failures or disruptions in IT services, the amount of money being spent to sustain audit results, and the amount of financial losses organizations are willing to sustain before spending money to manage business risks related to the use of IT among others. In addition to financial outcomes, we also track operational outcomes such as the number of IT systems that are impacted by vulnerabilities, the number of hours of business downtime experienced as a result of problems in IT services, the number of data losses or thefts that occur, or the number of deficiencies found in IT that need to be corrected to pass audits among many others.
